Description

The Proponent is one of our most iconic models. With an absolutely stunning 4” Wharncliffe and an overall length of almost 9” this massive cutting tool is overbuilt for use well beyond the specifications of most conventional folding knives. This knife truly makes a statement in the pocket. When you want to be truly ready for anything the Proponent is the right knife for you.

The distinctive angled Wharncliffe blade shape makes this knife an excellent tactical option and a very effective large EDC.

With a blade that’s almost 1.75” wide, the Proponent can generate a huge amount of cutting power along its edge, enough to handle to toughest materials that you can throw at it!

Features

Designer Dirk Pinkerton is a well-known name in the Knife world known for highly practical designs with superb ergonomics. The Proponent’s shape echoes many of Mr. Pinkerton’s classic designs with a focus on being a synthesis of practical and tactical while providing a lot of blades to work with.

Handle Material For people who want their knives to perform under any condition G10 is an excellent handle material option. G10 is temperature-resistant, water-resistant, non-reactive, non-conductive, and exceptionally tough under pressure. We’ve milled a specific groove pattern into the Proponent to give it additional grip in a slippery situation.

Lock Pin The Proponent has been built to be exceptionally strong with a robust full liner construction and a liner lock, but for those who want an extra degree of strength and reliability, we have included a hardened steel pin that can be screwed through the scales to act as a secondary locking mechanism. With the pin secured in place, there is virtually no way for the lock to fail during use.

Ballbearing To ensure smooth and fast operation, we’ve outfitted the Proponent with a ceramic ball-bearing pivot construction, allowing for quick and snappy one-handed flipper deployment and smooth closing action. A ceramic détente ensures that this knife will maintain crisp, sharp action for a lifetime of use. Even with the substantial size of this blade, the action is still smooth and fast
